DAY 14 with Teresa Ann:
GIVE OR TAKE!
My daughter and I recorded our 32nd episode via “OH…Teresa and Tristin” Podcast for this week titled, “Give Or Take!” The title itself may have different meanings for whomever is reading it. However the point of the conversation was,
“No one can take what you’re willing to give.” – Teresa Ann
Ponder that for a moment.
Do you see the uniquely powerful position of how the Kingdom of GOD operates?
This “out of this world” divine, GOD culture is always in a position of being above the circumstances. The Kingdom of GOD reveals that HE is immovable. GOD is steadfast. HE is uncompromising. In other words from this place of VICTORY, heavenly perspective of WHO HE IS, it is none other than earth shattering with A DIVINE INVASION plan of GOD’S LOVE.
Think about this real life scenario:
Judas rushes to the scene by letting the officers who are about to arrest Jesus, know which one HE is by the following as he says, “Greetings Rabbi” and kisses him on the cheek. Then Jesus says, “Do what you came for, FRIEND.” Then the men stepped forward and seized Jesus. There in that moment, Jesus was betrayed, all the while living out what HE had taught his disciples for a few short years. Jesus wasn’t taken by surprise.
Think about this, immediately after Jesus was arrested, Peter with great vigilance, rushes at one of the soldiers, then takes his sword and cuts the man’s ear off. Yet when Jesus witnesses all that is going down, HE simply bends down in love; picks up the man’s ear, lovingly reaches for his head and attaches his ear while restoring him. He was teaching Peter even in that moment, to overcome evil with good by reminding him in action that you can’t be taken from if you’ve already given it.
Or how about the moment that Jesus is then whipped over and over again in the most excruciating, barbaric way to the point where you could see shreds of hanging muscle and bones exposed. Even the moment He was nailed to the cross. He made sure that they knew, they weren’t taking HIS life, HE was willingly giving HIS life, not to them, but FIRST to the Father and then by default HIS life was a ransom for each of us.
Even stepping back in the days, months and the few crucial years prior to HIS ultimate death, HE constantly taught KINGDOM ways. He said, “The law says to love your neighbor and hate your enemy; BUT I SAY, love your enemies and this is HOW…Do good to them, pray for them and bless them…” And here’s the why, “So they will know you as GOD’s children and it glorifies our Father in heaven.
HE was showing that the Kingdom never sees itself being robbed; instead, it always sees an opportunity to sow, to give. Of course, and although there are robbers stealing, killing and destroying; the KINGDOM never allows the Kingdom of darkness to have the final word. The kingdom of darkness gets no plunder from a siege; instead the KINGDOM of GOD sees how it can constantly give to seize the hearts of men to be pointed back to the Father GOD.
Do you remember when Jesus said the most seemingly ridiculous things in the eyes of the world? “If they slap you on the cheek, GIVE your other cheek. If they take your tunic, GIVE your shirt also. If they tell you to go a mile; GO two miles.” What?! How can this be? There’s no way…and yet, every time there is conflict; when looking to Jesus as HE is PEACE; you can see how the King of Glory is able to enter in and do what HE does so well…HE takes what the enemy meant for evil and turns it around for His glory.
REFLECTION OF THE WORD WITH HOLY SPIRIT:
Matthew 5:44-48; Matthew 26; Luke 6:27-38
What is GOD showing you about what you can start seeing as an opportunity to give? Can you share?
