Did I get you with that title?
Let me start by saying, the worst place to be is in a place where we see people “below” us because they didn’t do things the way we did it. Shallow, surfacey perspective causes us to rob ourselves yet again of an incredible symphonic sound! Let me be very clear; I’m not talking about being “accepting” of one another’s lifestyles of sin or insinuating that there’s more than one way to God except through Jesus; let me be clear, I’m not saying that at all. I’m talking about those moments God calls us out into the deep and we want everyone else to do the same because we don’t want to be “alone”.
At times we feel if we are doing it; why isn’t everyone else?
Here’s the bottom line of it all: I’ve pretty much gotten frustrated with trumpets not being pianos.
Those moments when I thought that people should be “more like so and so”, this thought process is evidence that The love of God was absent in my walk. I was seeing and hearing with my own perspective how I “think” or “feel” things should be. Yet His FREEDOM collaboration which causes us to gather together allows our own unique sound to come together as one beautiful song; making up a symphony of praise instead of a bunch of clanging symbols. It’s all based on timing of when an instrument is to be played. The conductor knows when our timing is – there’s a rhythm, a beat and it’s not on how we think it should sound; instead it’s the conductor knowing what the sound should be. He knows the vibrations that must be echoed into the atmosphere. Some instruments get to play the entire time and others have a few parts – but they each know their sound, their timing and their place.
Be at rest – be content with who you are in HIM and where you are within the Symphony of God’s grace and let’s do the same for others as well.
